Our Commitment to Saint Mary's Athletics

At Saint Mary’s, our athletics programs are dedicated to promoting Christian values and upholding the highest standards. Our goal is to enhance the development of life skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork in our student-athletes.  We recognize the significant role that sports play in the social and physical development of our children and strive to provide a positive and enriching experience for all participants. While winning is encouraged, it should never come at the expense of sportsmanship and the essential skills needed to lead a healthy Christian life.

To support these goals, the Saint Mary’s Boosters have developed the following guidelines:

  1. Promote Christian Values: Ensure that all activities and interactions reflect our core values.
  2. Emphasize Skill Development: Focus on teaching the skills necessary for success both on and off the field.
  3. Foster Teamwork: Encourage collaboration and mutual support among all participants.
  4. Prioritize Sportsmanship: Maintain respect, fairness, and integrity in all aspects of competition.
  5. Support Positive Experiences: Create an environment where every child feels valued and motivated.

We invite all parents to join us in our mission to support and enhance the athletic programs at Saint Mary’s. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of our student-athletes.

Cheerleading

Cheerleading at Saint Mary's is an enriching opportunity available during the basketball season, with practices starting in the fall alongside the school year.

Participating in cheerleading not only builds teamwork and coordination but also fosters confidence and leadership skills among our students. It's a chance for children to develop their athleticism in a supportive and spirited environment.

Cross Country

The Cross Country Program serves grades K-8 and runs from August to October. The goal is to compete in the state meet: K-4 grades run a 2K, 5-6 grades run a 3K, and 7-8 grades run a 4K.

Cross Country is about having fun while running and promotes self-motivation and team spirit. Participants can earn individual medals and team trophies. It’s a great way for students to stay fit and interact with peers. The atmosphere is family-oriented and fan-friendly. All are welcome to try this unique sport!

Golf

The Saint Mary Golf Team, established in 2018, is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys and girls. The season runs from the end of August through October, with matches held during the week at World of Golf in Florence, starting around 3:45pm.

Our goal is to foster a love for the game of golf while promoting sportsmanship and skill development among our student-athletes.

Micro Soccer (P3, P4, & K)

The Saint Mary U6 soccer program nurtures respect, understanding, and compassion among our children, providing a fun and educational environment for learning soccer. To optimize convenience and time, practices and games are held at the Saint Mary soccer fields on Sundays during the Fall and Spring seasons, each lasting 6 weeks.

Fall Season: August - October

Spring Season: March - May

Soccer (1st - 8th)

Saint Mary offers and supports soccer programs for girls and boys from U6 to U14. The U8-U14 (1st - 8th) programs are managed by the Campbell County Youth Soccer League.

The U8-U14 Recreational Program provides a low-cost option for kids to enjoy soccer on community-based teams with their peers. Game scores are not recorded, no league standings are kept, and equal playing time is mandatory. Teams typically include players with a wide range of skills, from beginners to those also participating in competitive "select" teams. It's a welcoming environment where children can develop their soccer skills while having fun and building friendships.

Track & Field

The Saint Mary Track and Field Program is a vibrant spring sport for students in 6-8, running from March through May. Our program offers a variety of events such as sprints, distance running, relays, long jump, and shot put, with practices on weekdays and meets on weekdays.

The program promotes physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship, helping children build self-confidence and resilience. We welcome families to support their young athletes in this exciting and enriching experience.
